Jess

I cannot count the number of times I've arrived at the gym to find that I forgot something important, like, say, a sports bra.

I usually pack up my gear and immediately go shopping.

yeah, I had to head down the street to marshall's. I guess I should be grateful my gym is near some stores. so 2 pairs of shorts, socks, a t-shirt, and an iPod cover later...

It's the hardest thing EVER for me to segue from one activity to the other if it entails a wardrobe change. That's why I'm such a freak about scheduling my day.

I've done the eliptical in kitten heels before.. it's great for the calfs.

Back in the day, I would drive to work in my gym clothes and pack my work clothes in my gym bag.

This worked great, except that I always forgot something: Belt, shoes (wore running shoes instead), socks, SHIRT (wore a t-shirt instead), and once, I forgot a towel and didn't realize until I got out of the shower.

Yeah, I used one of the ones that was just hanging there on some other dude's locker. Desperate times...

Yeah, Tim, that's pretty dangerous--the working out BEFORE going work. I could see me calling in to work, "sorry, gonna be late. gotta go home and get some pants."

This is why I workout AFTER work because otherwise I totally would get up at 6:00 and hit the gym. Yeah, I mean other than that, I'm SO there at 6:00a.m.

HollowSquirrel

YES, sage advice, oh wise one.

When I used to work out before work (way way long ago, previous millenium), I'd pack my bag, leave it in front of our apartment door, then walk over it on the way to work... leaving it there, neglected and sad. But I'd SERIOUSLY just forget it was there and step over it.

And last week, I went to the gym to QUIT IT! Mine was only $25 a month, but still, after using it 2x in 2 years, I feel so light and free to have QUIT! Woot! I'm a quitter!

sweatpantsmom

What?! You're supposed to go to the gym and WORK OUT?

I thought I was paying them that monthly fee for the lovely keychains they send me twice a year.

Nancy

Having a shirt is a good idea too. Tho I suppose in my pre-baby days I might have been able to function with a decently made sports bra -- those days are LONG GONE now, for sure.
