It seems as though I've rekindled an old love triangle...my suitors being Messrs. Macaroni & Cheese. I've had it twice this week for lunch (so dangerous! so taboo!). In keeping with the Catholic tradition of no meat on Fridays during Lent, I'd also like to add, "Bonus!" Though honestly this would make it the first Friday I've observed said, uh, Lent rule or whatever. Nothing like getting in under the wire.
Speaking of eats, I've been left to my own devices for dinner and the cupboards are looking a little sparse. I thought there was leftover chicken fingers from the Chinese joint in the fridge - the sole reason I didn't hit Wendy's before getting on the bus home - but apparently I was mistaken. Mike, I hope you enjoyed them! (ed note: to be fair, they WERE Mike's leftovers - I just "happened" to have spotted them this morning before leaving for work)
So, I've been reduced to rye Melba Toast squares, a half a container of bruschetta mix, and half a container of tomato & pesto hummus. I am not really one to talk at great length about food, because honestly I am your basic meat and potatoes-AND THAT'S IT! kinda girl but seriously, how sad is this?? I know what you're thinking: "who under the age of 50 eats Melba toast... willingly?" My point exactly.
So, I've just finished the last rye-ohmyGodamIeatingcardboard-Melba Toast Square, plain I might add, and I need a beverage. I think I just might have to crack a beer (thanks to the St Patrick's Day party, we have a ton of THIS in the fridge) because after all, it IS a goooood Friday.
Yippee! I'm the first. Keep em comin' kiddo. What could possibly be more inspiring to write about than "starch"? It truly is the little things, isn't it? BTW your cousin Tim (or Mit as his heartless, brothers call their dyslexic sibling) wrote an entire essay on the evils of sequels, when he was in the 6th grade. I see you have that dislike in common.
