I'm very happy (okay, ecstatic) that the wisdom teeth adventure was not all too traumatic. Really. I think the Big Guy was all, "you suffered enough" and gave me a pass on the operation. Thanks, Big Guy.
Need a better idea? I have a bottle Percoset and I haven't even so much as popped an Advil for the tooth pain. I KNOW. I'm shocked too!
Going into this, my biggest worry was the needle. I had a bad experience when I was operated on in the 90s and they kept jabbing me and poking me trying to get a vein - and when they finally had, it wasn't in properly. At that point I was in tears and this turned out to be the worst of the entire operation deal. So, drawing on that day and knowing that they were sticking a needle in my arm for this, I was worried that my veins would, once again, not show up to play. As a result, I felt the need to do some "lifting" prior to to make sure veins were in top shape. Except I was at home when I thought of this - and we don't have weights. The only thing that I could find that was heavy enough but compact enough were a couple of big Ireland photo books. Yeah, I was doing curls with a couple of coffee table books the night before. That got me a couple of looks.
Among the list of Dos and Don'ts, I was told I can't workout for 3 whole days. Um, OKAY DOC. You say so! And speaking of Don'ts, can I just say, GIRL IS HUNGRY.
Well, I don't look like a chipmunk and I'm not in any pain. The only thing that's a little disconcerting is that there was a fair amount of blood in my mouth this morning - my teeth looked like something you'd buy at a Halloween store. I don't think OSHA would appreciate a blood spitting employee so I am just gonna um, "convalesce" here on this beautiful day.
This will sound weird-but I actually liked having my wisdom teeth out-I slept for two days straight (pain meds.) and ate my grandmother's homemade pudding the whole time. That was 4 years ago-I think it was the last time I slept.

Is the line "It wasn't in properly" funny to anyone else?

Yeah, I didn't think getting my wisdom teeth out was so bad either. I lived off Breyer's coffee ice cream for a few days and watched TV with ice bags tied around my head. No biggie.
I was a little freaked out by the holes in my jaw, though...
